I am Natasha Pearman, an experienced Senior Social Worker, Best Interests Assessor (BIA) and Practice Educator, providing independent Court of Protection (COP3) Assessments and Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) Certificate Provider Services across England and Wales.
 

With 12 years of post-qualifying experience as a social worker, I specialise in assessments completed under the Mental Capacity Act (2005), including Court of Protection (COP3) Assessments and Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) Certificate Provider Services.
 

My approach combines professional expertise with a commitment to ensuring that individuals are supported, respected and involved in decisions wherever possible.

Throughout my career I have worked within Adult Social Care services completing complex assessments, safeguarding enquiries, Court of Protection work and mental capacity assessments.
 

This experience enables me to provide clear, evidence-based and legally robust assessments that support Court of Protection applications, Lasting Power of Attorney instructions and other decision-making processes.

Our Process

1. Initial Contact

We begin with a conversation to understand your requirements, the purpose of the assessment and any relevant background information. This allows us to identify the most appropriate assessment and answer any questions about the process before an appointment is arranged.

2. Assessment

The assessment is completed either face-to-face or via video appointment, depending on the individual's circumstances and the requirements of the instruction.

The assessment is conducted in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act (2005) and focuses on the specific decision being considered, ensuring a clear, person-centred and legally robust assessment.

Please note: mileage charges apply to face-to-face appointments in accordance with our Terms & Conditions.

3. Documentation & Outcome

Following the assessment, the agreed  documentation will be completed and returned to the instructing party.

  • Completion of the COP3 form where instructed

  • Completion of the Certificate Provider section of the LPA where appropriate

  • Confirmation of the assessment outcome

  • Documents typically returned within 2–3 working days
